Kelowna Wedding Photographer | Yokohama Japan

For the month of October, this Kelowna Wedding Photographer had the opportunity to travel to Asia with her husband and children (ages 4 and 17 months) and capture not only some amazing family photos, but a few Weddings too!

The first city we stopped in was Yokohama Japan and I didn’t know it when we planned to visit, but Sankeien Gardens  was buzzing with Wedding excitement.  It was a Wednesday, but couples were flocking there to get their pre-Wedding photos taken.  To say I was SUPER excited to catch a glimpse into the ornate and sacred world of Japanese Weddings is an understatement!

Spying my first couple, I was so excited to see their beautiful Wedding apparel.  And with each couple who I was fortunate to see…it was again totally different and unique.

I made my poor family follow this  first  adorable couple all over the gardens until I gained enough courage to ask their Wedding photographer (and I wasn’t sure if they would understand me at all) if I could pose them and take a few images.  He luckily did speak some English, conveyed my wishes to his clients and told them I was a Wedding Photographer from Canada.  They happily obliged and I am so glad they did.  I LOVE what I was able to capture.  Thank you SO much Yuna & Sota!  Many blessings to you on your Wedding day!

Thank you to all these gorgeous couples who allowed me to be that “Aunt Betty” who at so many of the Weddings I photograph, wants to come over and capture some photos on her own camera 🙂
