Vernon Wedding Photographer | Wedded Bliss Photography captures Adam’s proposal to Samantha

As a Vernon Wedding Photographer, I get to photograph some amazing couples. And with some pretty amazing scenic backdrops. We are in abundance here in the Okanagan Valley. I am rarely photographing in the same location within the year

When one of my Wedding couples first start planning their big day, their Wedding date is usually about a year away and we discuss what type of engagement session they would like to plan. What is their vision for what they would like me to capture?

For this fantastic engagement session however, it wasn’t exactly an engagement session. It would become one, but first a very important question had to be asked. Will you marry me?

Samantha and Adam have been dating for 7 years. Last time I met him; three years ago, I was working with Samantha, and her family for some lovely family portraits at Kalamalka Provincial Park. He was the boyfriend who was invited along to be in some of the images Today he was taking on a very different role in the family. Future son in law and the family was going to be there to cheer him on.

Under the guise of a Vernon family portrait session, Samantha had no idea what was planned. Her sister Darby and Darby’s boyfriend Aaron, came down to the BX falls early with me so we could scatter rose petals. When I saw Adam and Samantha on the trail coming down, I made up a story about a Bride and Groom who had just left the area and had scattered rose petals for their photos. I told Samantha I would just make sure to crop them out of the images I took of them. I then started working with Adam and Samantha. Posing them for their first image, I happily took pictures and then said, “Okay now do something spontaneous” and the rest is history.

Adam got down on one knee, Samantha said an enthusiastic “Yes!” and the family cheered on from the sidelines. In my next blog post, on my other website, Baby Bliss Photography, I am going to share some of the family portraits I captured up Silver Star Mountain.

I wish you lots of love and joy planning your upcoming Wedding Samantha & Adam!
