Kelowna Wedding Photographer | Emilie & Gene

This darling couple aren’t getting married until next year; so I was super honoured that they loved my work so much that they hired me as their Kelowna Wedding Photographer more than a year and a half in advance!  I was also doubly honoured that it was another local Vernon Wedding Photographer, Jennifer Croteau Photography that recommended me.  I feel very lucky to be in such a supportive, photographic community!

Emilie and Gene are getting married in one of my favorite venues in Vernon, Paddlewheel Park Hall.

For over 100 years, the Station House, which now comprises one wing of Paddlewheel Park Hall, served Vernon in a number of ways.  When the CPR provided the only transportation from Vernon to the south Okanagan, fruit, vegetables, goods, and people passed through the Station House doors to board the Sternwheelers which plied this route. When the railroad withdrew its services in 1836, the Station House passed into private hands. It was renovated to serve as an apartment house until it was donated to the Okanagan Landing & District Community Association by Wes and Kay Whitehead in 1982. Since its restoration has long been a dream of the Association, it seemed appropriate to incorporate it into our new facility and mirror its architectural features in the New Hall Wing. 

It couldn’t be a more wonderful venue for a Vernon Wedding Photographer to photograph in.

I loved all the fun ideas Emilie and Gene brought to their Engagement Session and I know they will do the same for their Wedding.  More importantly than all the details, they are a wonderful couple together.  Their love was evident in every image I captured.I can’t wait to see them again next summer!
