Photographer in Vernon

The wedding of Allan and Barbara was one for the history books for this Photographer in Vernon.

Sadly, much of our province has been on fire this summer. There is an enormous fire close to our city that has had our city and surrounding areas on and off evacuation orders and alerts for the past month. It has been a scary time and very unsettling for my brides and grooms who have been planning weddings.

The night before Allan and Barbara’s wedding, I was driving home from a nearby city after creating a maternity session for my Baby Bliss Photography clients. As I came into Vernon, there was a wall of darkness ahead of me. Once I was closer, although it was an hour and a half till sunset, it was completely pitch black. The air was thick with smoke and ash which sadly has become a reality for all of us. It was the first time I’d ever seen it this bad and I was really worried about what the next day would hold for Allan and Barbara.

The next morning, I awoke to blue skies and very little smoke. I was shocked! As I drove to Predator Ridge Resort where they were holding their elopement, I could see the wall of darkness coming. Thankfully however the blue skies held!

It was so lovely to see this warm and caring couple embrace their day. As with many couples, their plans had changed over the past year and a half, and after moving to Vernon recently, they knew Predator Ridge would be a beautiful backdrop for their special day.

Barbara felt like a Princess, and she glowed a beautiful confidence. Allan couldn’t take his eyes off of her and their adorable 11 year old dog Logan, even barked when they kissed after their vows! I think he was jealous!!! 🙂

There are years of happiness ahead for this wonderful couple. Thanks for allowing me to not only capture your beautiful day but be a witness too! I am honoured!
