There is nothing more sweet for this Vernon Photographer, than a love story like Eric and Lisa’s.

I got to know Eric and Lisa a little bit via phone calls from Toronto but it wasn’t until a week before the wedding, when Eric and I went on a little road trip to show him where he would meet his bride for the first time at the “First Look”, that I started to see firsthand how they absolutely adored each other.

Lisa grew up in Vernon, but her journey to meet Eric would take her to the other side of the world.  Six years ago, during a back packing trip through Europe, Eric and Lisa met in Germany on a walking tour.  Journeying together for two more cities after that, they knew they had to be together…..but the distance between Vernon and Toronto was a bit of a commute.  Luckily for Eric, Lisa was already considering moving out East, and with very little convincing, she settled in Toronto.  It has been a love story for the ages ever since.

Life isn’t without its’ trials however and a week before the wedding, Lisa’s mom, Eleanor, was involved in a near fatal accident.  It’s a miracle she’s alive and we were all so very concerned whether or not she could attend the wedding.  Thankfully, her doctors gave her medical clearance to come to the wedding for a few hours, and the love and joy, at her being able to be there, was palpable.  It really does take a village to put on a backyard wedding and this families tribe was out in full force!

Every moment of this day was pure magic.  There were throngs of friends from Toronto, family from the lower mainland and one guest from as far away as Dubai!  It all showed that when you put out love into the universe, as Eric and Lisa do, the world responds back.  This couple is thoroughly loved and the tears and emotion showed that.

Eric and Lisa; I wish you all the happiness in the world and I am so thrilled I got to celebrate your day with you!
