For Vernon Photographers, the weather in the Okanagan Valley can be very predictable in the summer. It is hot and dry. I think I have photographed only a handful of weddings where it rained on a wedding day and next year will be my 20th year as wedding photographer! But when your wedding gets a down pour minutes before a first look, it sure is wonderful when the wedding vibe for your wedding is all about family and taking their time. All we needed to do was postpone for a few minutes and we had the most beautiful overcast skies! And their first look was everything that makes my heart happy as a wedding photographer. Corky and Destanne are SO in love with each other and they radiate an incredible energy when they are together.

Their wedding was uniquely them and I love that.

It was all about family. In fact apart from the lovely musician serenading them and myself, it was only family in attendance. It was beautiful, tailored to the couples love story, and intimate. What more could you ask for when sharing your most important day with your most important people?

Silver Star ski resort holds a special place in their hearts as it was an integral part of their love story so I am thankful they got to go back to where it all began.

I am honoured I was a part of your special day. Rain, sunshine and everything in between. It was magical!
