Vernon Photographers

The Wedding of Megan and Doug was one for the history books for these Vernon Photographers.

After 15 plus years of capturing weddings, Kate, my amazing associate photographer and I looked at each other during the reception and we were BOTH crying.

This is a first for us and it tells an emotional story of how joyous this day was for everyone involved.

While I am photographing a wedding, I have to have laser focus to capture key moments.  I try not to listen too intently when speeches or a ceremony are going on, as I can get caught up in my own emotion and I don’t want to miss any special moments.

This wedding however was different.

No one could turn off the powerful emotion of hearing Megan’s son Jackson, give an incredibly heart felt speech at the reception.  Full of wisdom past his years, this incredible young man; was Doug’s best man for a reason.  He spoke from the heart and we all came unhinged.

Mabel Lake was the backdrop for this beautiful day and has been in Megan’s family for four generations.  Doug and the boys got ready at the family cabin and the ceremony and reception were at the Mabel Lake Blueberry Farm, dear friends of Megan’s family.

The beautiful property that we photographed most of the wedding party at was friends of the family and the Mable Lake Marina holds special lifelong memories too.

Doug and Megan’s day was full of those beautiful moments that celebrates family, love and two people finding each other so that a family of three is instantly created.  It was truly a special day; one that we won’t forget.

Thank you Doug and Megan for bringing us along to capture all the magic.

Um, gonna toot our own horn here – we killed it! This wedding was so beautiful to photograph with you. But the horn we can’t toot, is the energy this beautiful couple brought to their day and, their 12yo son’s speech still has me verklempt. Love, love, love!ReplyCancel
