Vernon Photographers love winter weddings

Of all the special reasons clients hire a professional photographer, Weddings are one of my favourites. When I studied professional photography in 2005 at the Western Academy of Photography in Victoria, I knew Wedding Photography was going to be my career.  I LOVED capturing love and documenting a couples special day.

I was was super excited when Kat and Rick contacted me about being their Wedding Photographer.  I was even more excited when they told me it was going to be a winter destination wedding, at one of my favourite venues.  Silver Star Mountain Resort.  I may have squealed a bit when Kat told me they were also including the Wild Horseman’s Cabin and the Horses of Silver Star as a part of the special day they were planning.  This cabin in the woods is a 15 min. sleigh ride away from the resorts village and so picturesque! 

Kat and Rick were making this special day (9 years in the making) very much about the family and friends that were going to be there.  Half the guests were flying into Canada from Germany and were spending the days leading up to the ceremony exploring Silver Star.  Many of the guests had not been to Canada before and celebrating this special couple was reason enough to jump on a plane!

Rick’s family was mostly from Vancouver Island and so this too was a destination for them.

We couldn’t have asked for a better day.  Bright blue skies, not too cold (Kat braved the cold like a champ in her beautiful dress) and we had the most beautiful sunset.
