The Wedding of Royal and Anita was a “Royal Affair” for this Vernon Wedding Photographer.

When a groom has such a stately name, you suit your wedding colours and even gourmet chocolates (more on that later) to pay homage to the royalness of it all.

Anita and Royal came from Ottawa for their beautiful ceremony on the shores of Kalamalka Lake.  

Originally from Grindrod, Anita’s parents now live in Vernon and the beautiful backdrop for their ceremony was the stunning backyard of a family friend.

It was a small, intimate affair, with family coming in from as far away as Sweden, all over BC and friends from Toronto & Sudbury Ontario.

Anita’s family is Swedish and so to have her sister, husband and niece and nephew to come over for the joyous celebration, was extremely special.  Anita wanted a lot of her images to centre on this family reunion and to also capture her parents, who were about to celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary.

The special chocolates were created in Sweden, by Anita’s talented brother in law.  His chocolates are so famous, they have been presented to the the King of Sweden and many other dignitaries.

The weather all week, had called for rain, but we were blessed with a mix of gorgeous overcast and sun.

The gorgeous property was along the Rail Trail so we didn’t need to go far for the majority of our beautiful portraits.

Along our way to the reception at the Vernon Golf and Country Club, we also stopped at Sparkling Hill for some more portraits and for the bride and groom to check into their honeymoon destination.
