As Vernon Wedding Photographers, we specialize in weddings both grand and intimate. With the uncertainty of the recent months however, weddings have looked a lot different since March.

Brides and grooms have been forced to have intimate weddings, and reshape the vision they had for their special day

Not all family members and friends can be there, nor can the reception look the same.

With this couple, Tyler and Maren, they too had to re-imagine their wedding. In the end however, the creativeness that was infused into their big day, made it extra special.

Our family has been fortunate to know Maren for four years. She was our summer nanny (ironically so I could work through out the summer months-which has a high number of weddings) and we absolutely adore her.

Her and Tyler have dated since high school and even though Maren attended university at Queens in Kingston Ontario, their love for each other weathered the long distance between them.

When Tyler proposed on Maren’s birthday last year, I was so excited when she asked if I could document their special day.

I was equally excited when she came to our house in February with some beautiful tulips and a card for our daughter Ava, asking her is she would like to be Maren’s flower girl! We went shopping that afternoon and found her the most beautiful dress.

With many of Maren’s family in Germany; the ceremony was live streamed so everyone could be a part of the beautiful ceremony at the “Barn up the Hill”. After the ceremony; in lieu of the reception which needed to be postponed, all the guests became part of a giant car parade (everyone got decorations for their vehicles as a part of a fun gift bag). As we drove through the streets of Vernon honking and cheering, it was a memorable event as the newly married Mr. and Mrs. were celebrated.

We love you Maren and Tyler and so thrilled you are now Mr. and Mrs. Rogers!!!!
