Most wedding and engagement sessions go hand in hand; as when a client books their wedding with us; an Engagement Session is included in their Wedding Collection.
For this lovely couple, this engagement session (and their upcoming wedding on Thanksgiving weekend) has been three years in the making.
Having booked us in 2019, we have been through three date changes to finally land on a celebration that will include all the friends and family they have waited to have attend! It’s going to be an amazing party.
And with their busy forestry company; finding a date that worked for the engagement session also posed a small challenge; but nothing we couldn’t overcome…two weeks before their wedding 😉
One might ask, why even create an engagement session two weeks before? Why not just do the wedding portraits. The answer lies in building trust. Confidence. Connection.
I always like to ask my clients when we meet, how everyone is feeling. Are they feeling nervous, anxious or excited?
Al told me he hadn’t had photos of him taken since he was in school. Like in….school portraits! I couldn’t believe it and it reminded me why what I create as a professional photographer is so important. I am capturing moments that will carry with them emotions, memories and a moment in time that we can’t get back.
When Shawna and Al walk down the aisle in a few weeks, I can’t wait to capture more of their connection. You can see from these portraits how perfectly they fit into each others arms and the beautiful love they share. See you soon!
