As a Vernon Wedding Photographer helping plan out a couples perfect wedding day is always so rewarding.

If the couple is not from the Okanagan, it makes it extra special as they are coming to our area to take advantage of our beautiful weather and scenery.

Having not met Christ & Kristy before, it was SO lovely to finally meet them and learn more about them and the special day they are planning.

Kristy’s dad and step mom have a beautiful lake front home on Okanagan Lake that will be the backdrop for the ceremony and reception.  Being from Vancouver, they were house sitting for the week  so it was the perfect time to finally meet and create their engagement session.  After our session I was able to go and see the home so we could dream and plan out their day a bit more.

The afternoon of our session, a very dark snow storm was looming.  We have been having really erratic weather this winter and I was quite worried we might have to postpone.

We had chatted about using the Rise Golf Course in Vernon as our location and I made sure to get there early and scope out a few views.  The club house is under construction so I wanted to make sure we didn’t get locked in the construction site!

We found the most epic location to work with them and their adorable pup.  We didn’t have long before the gates were getting locked and luckily we saw the last worker who was heading home and he was very kind to not lock us in for the night 🙂

With the impending storm, Okanagan Lake was the darkest shade of blue I have ever seen.  It was truly magical!

Thank you Kristy and Chris for braving the cold and for being so lovely to work with.  You fit effortlessly into each others arms and I loved capturing the love you you have for each other.  Can’t wait to see you again this summer!
