This stunning series of images (and I say stunning because of my subject and amazing sunset we were gifted with) was a dream team of artists for this Vernon Photographer to work with.
Yoko Dharma is the crazily talented recording artist who I have gotten to know over the years as I have photographed her Engagement Session to her amazing husband Will, their incredible Wedding in Nelson in 2013 with my incredibly talented associate photographer Kate and now as Yoko is putting together her second album.
Even though I took these images in 2014, I am only now able to publish them as they have now been taken out of the “secrecy vault” for publicity and promotional purposes.
When planning this session, Yoko had a number of ideas she wanted to incorporate. An amazing sunset was at the top of the list and I am SO pleased we were gifted with a spectacular night in Kal Provincial Park. Thankfully Will, her over 6 ft. tall (black belt) husband was there to escort us all safely out of the park at night!
Melissa Dacre, was a part of the dream team of stylists and Yoko own’s brother created two of the incredible dresses she is wearing during the session.
I am so proud of Yoko as she currently records her second album, “Freedom Reign”. The culturally diverse world music influences drawn on to make “Freedom Reign” album stem from Yoko’s passionate love of world music and unique world instruments. They are all a part of Yoko’s intriguing sound. The deep rooted wisdom that Tibetan Buddhism has given her in her life is also reflected in her songwriting. I have no doubt that Yoko’s debut RnB album will shake the globe, stirring international fans everywhere and I can’t wait to hear it.
Love you Yoko!
